doodling ~

today i worked on word balloons. they're surprisingly and annoying difficult for me for some reason. i'm sure there must be math involved or something.

anyway, these two pictures are just sketches (nothing serious), but i wanted to see if i could make some semi-competent balloons and i seemed to have managed to. now to learn how to customize those puppies into something cool (yeah right).



all this and i still haven't settled into an art style. black & white is still easier, but i have to say that sometimes color is just very very cool. all that and i can't seem to sit still long enough to work up a narrative. i'm going to have to invent a new writing form for this if i ever intend to get anywhere. i thought the whole tryptich thing would work, but i am so daunted by the architecture (straight lines ~ eeeeee!) that i feel i must work on something less "set" heavy.

i know, it's just another excuse.
