Fermine's prose is clean and clear, each word carefully chosen and perfectly tuned. THE BLACK VIOLIN is beautifully composed, superb in its simplicity as Fermine relates not just the story of two men, a violin and obsessive love, but in the deeper lesson of the search for perfection and how it can lead to either greatness or madness. This is a lovely little book that has an enormous meaning for those willing to look deeper.
