One of the illusions of life
is that the present hour
is not the critical,
decisive hour.

Write it on your heart
that every day is the best day
in the year.

No man has learned anything rightly,
until he knows that every day
is Doomsday.

so my snuffle has become a hacking mung and i am exhausted and wiped out (bad sleep to boot). yesterday i got all caught up, but not ahead. today i fear i may well fall behind. on top of which i am supposed to go to a show tonight, so my evening is basically shot.

but enough of that kvetching ~ i don't even have the energy for that.

I like that quote. It also makes me smile as I remember something similar from (I think) a Charlie Brown cartoon (OMG!).

One character says to another, "You should live each day as though it were your last."
So the other starts running around, screaming hysterically, "This is my last day on earth, oh no! oh no!" etc.

I've always thought that I would probably react like that :)

I can't believe Emerson used that much white space. Paper was expensive.

I bet ee cummings just quoted him that way to bug ezra pound.

hahahahahaha ~ no, emerson didn't use any white space. i just didn't like the way it looked sprawled all across the page.
