for the utter amusement of all, here's the excusatory preface ("unblinded by partisan feeling or sectional hatred") ~ hahahahaha ~

~ and what has to be the most ponderous anthropomorphizing of a celestial body in the history of literature:

my favorite moment in the whole book, however is this:
She laid her head on John's breast and sobbed like a little child. Her brave task ended, she was only a woman now.

i tell you: there's something to offend everyone in this book. it has been way too amusing.

That really made me laugh. That book sounds so over-the-top that it could almost be satirical.

it was very hard to take it seriously most of the time. i kept having to remind myself it was written in 1889.

hahahaha ~

Hi. You may not remember me, but both of us interacted briefly on the word_painting community. Apparently, the community has been closed. Do you know why? Also, your own Lookingland community is down. Is this a temporary situation?

that too bad about [livejournal.com profile] word_painting! i have no idea why it was closed ~ the administrator never even announced anything ~ foo.

LookingLand is closed for refurbishment (i'm redesigning the site). problem is, i dunno when i'll get to finishing it ~

seems like it's really hard to find a good writer's community with dedicated members, etc. maybe i'll start a new one in conjuction with [livejournal.com profile] plottingfiction since that one seems to have a decently active membership.
