last night i had the "teeth falling out" dream.

i've been very lucid in the dreams lately, but not this one. i remember thinking: ugh, i'll have to have a fake tooth put in, but at least they can fix it. not like the other night when i dreamt of a 30s-style revue with girls in gold spangled caps and a man in yellow coattails and tights (like a big chicken) wearing a top hat ~ and everybody dancing with mesh-bagged fleshy-colored grapefruits (yeah, not too suggestive). and i was sort of: oh brother, how about let's not have this silliness (and so it went away).

so: anxiety.

it's not about school (about which i haven't given two thoughts even though i start on tuesday and am not remotely prepared.

it's probably about work. i'm on the last script now, but it's been uphill.

last night i just had to take a break, so i watched the billie august Les Miserables. what an unfortunate adaptation ~ it had everything going for it, but then it bailed. i still contend it should have just been "Fantine" and told that story up to when he rescues cosette and escapes from Javert. i'd been much happier with that than them trying to crowbar the other two books into the last thirty minutes of the film. meh.

aside from that, the film has some lovely things in it, is well-cast, and has a decent Basil Poledouris score. and it reminds me of how good the book is, so that's a big plus. somehow i can see geoffrey rush singing: Stars, in your multitudes, scarce to be counted, here in the darkness... ~ and that's funny too.

a great review can be found here: Les Miserables < ~ along with bunches of other fun links about the book, films, the musical, etc.

a couple years ago i started reading Les Miserables in french (with the english text side-by-side) ~ it was slow, but enlightening. i don't speak french, but hugo's words are so much more than what the translation renders. i can see that just from the sound of it and the nuances of the adjectives, etc. i only got as far as Valjean heading to arras to secure the acquittal of his namesake. when i have time, i would love to pick it up again.

last night i had the "teeth falling out" dream.

I had that dream recurringly. So much so that I consulted various dream interpretation books/sites. It hints at a fear of/concern about death. However, since I've actually had to have a tooth surgically removed, I haven't had the dream since! Not that I'd recommend the cure, mind you.

You may wish to stay away from the Welsh rarebit.

eeee rarebit!

apparently the teeth dream is the most common of all ~ even more common than falling or flying (neither of which i have ever had).

I've had falling and flying a lot - but never anything to do with teeth. However, I am quite nearsigted and have had dreams with wacked out perception and vision - like when you put on a pair of specs that is not heared to your eyes. I hate those most of all, I think.

I mostly have rather boring dreams, and would probably enjoy a dream as interesting as yours. Except a few nights ago I dreamed that I was taking a shower and Batman walked in. I was scared and Screamed out "Aah! Batman's here and I'm in my underwear!" and then I realized "Oh yeah, most of the people Batman knows are in their underwear."

This oddly fits with the theme of your post, since a few days later I saw Batman Begins, which had Liam Neeson in it. (And was very good.)

i wonder, still, how Batman feels about everyone else being in their underwear ~ and does he dream about Robin fully-dressed?
