so i scribbled a handful of the "usual suspects" and i'm finding this style very quick and forgiving ~ two major plusses. these aren't the best picts in the world, but they are literally thirty-second sketches and yet with the crisp lines, they look like they took a great deal more effort. anyway, the point isn't to make the pictures look like they were more work than they were ~ the point is to make less work!

it's also worth noting that this scan is larger than the actual image (hence some of the wonky lines) ~ these were drawn on business cards and so are about two-thirds this size in real life.
and here's the kicker: portraits are easy. i can doodle faces all day long. it's when i have to draw other things that i get into trouble. i guess the next test is to actually do a sequence and see if i can make it work.
