some new style choices ~

so the one on the left is pen and colored pencil ~ some interesting shading/color things happen there. i like that picture in particular (it's C. Sharp ~ hahahaha okay i never got that joke until now). other pictures in the same vein didn't fare as well though, so i feel sketchy about it.

the one on the right is a variety of pens and gouache ~ it has that thick-rind look with the softer details and then just a slight wash of color. i like it! dunno how consistent i can make it work, but for a first run, it's kinda interesting. certainly very very clean, which is not like me at all (i tend to prefer the scritchy scratchy sketchy stuff). but it reminds me of certain foreign comics, the look of which i tend to like very much. i'm gonna play with it some more.
