tonight i put my 1878 set of encyclopedia britannica, my easton press collection (not all, but many), my victorian dollhouse, and my 1893 wedgewood expo plate for sale on craigslist.
i love craigslist. it's making my move so much easier. met a nice friend who found me a great place to live, am learning all about black ice and snow booties from friendly minnesotans willing to help a transplanting texan, and i'm saying goodbye to old things that are just too heavy to carry.
okay, the plate isn't too heavy to carry, but as much as i love it, it's never really had any sentimental value to me ~ and even if i get $30 for it, that's a pair of shoes for one of my dogs.
i am still having a moving sale, but i figure i can prolly sell stuff this way too. already someone wants to buy the easton press collection ~ that'll pay for the heating block on my car!
: D
i'm not buying a new car. my Honda is a good set of wheels even if it is ten years old. and i can use that money to live on instead. i'll need it!
so many more things to list.
i suppose i ought to be NaNoing ~ i've only written about 600 words today. slept lousy last night and have a headache, so i'm just not into it, but i suspect i'll put a few more words in before bed.
~ * ~
watched a great little Rossellini film called The Flowers of Saint Francis ~ dunno where this one was hiding ~ it was a real joy! i thought it would be all serious and dour, but it really captured the spirit of holiness in a simple and childlike way. sweet, sweet film. the guy who plays saint francis was perfect and it's refreshingly not a biopict of any kind ~ in fact it's more about the others than it is about him.

also finished watching Brideshead Revisited ~ it took me long enough! i'll prolly have thoughts on that later though ~ hard to wrap my brain around all 12 hours of it at the moment.
