the good, the bad, the paper, & the dolls ~

woke up this morning in utter defiance of my schedule, didn't work, rambled about the city for hours occupying myself with nothing useful whatsoever, then came home and sat down to watch The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly (which, think what you will about westerns and Clint and whatnot ~ this is about a near-perfect film).

anyway, and whilst this film was rolling along, i decided to do what i always do when i am at the end of my wits: make paper dolls.

so guess what? this is no. 187 or so (seriously, it's gotta be at least the twentieth), and i did some things different which don't really show well on the scan. the doll is layered. all the parts are individually painted and then assembled so that there's actual texture. scan also doesn't show some of the cooler details, but oh well.

i kinda like this one. it's entirely possible that i might actually get beyond just making the doll and actually construct some clothes for this one.



this was a lot of work, i have to say. but i think i have a better sense of what i'm doing now and maybe making the dress will be a lot quicker? who knows.

okay ~ i think i better put in a few hours of actual work tonight since i've frittered my whole day away now.

edit: who am i kidding ~ i'm not going to do any work right now. i'm off to bed with my NaNo notes to try to form some sort of outline-like thing.
