there's an ant walking around the rim of my water cup in which i am cleaning my brushes. it's been doing this for about three hours. i wonder if it thinks it's getting anywhere?

~ * ~

looking at the digital version i did of this page (oh so long long ago), there is a lot to recommend it ~ and a side by side comparison of the digital vs. watercolor shows a rather stark contrast. i still say the scan of the actual media isn't very good and doesn't show a lot of the actual depth of the image (if i spent time making adjustments i could probably get a more faithful reproduction). i also haven't painted the background and confess that i am tempted to do some fills, skies, etc. digitally once the figures are painted. it's just easier in digital. that said, i don't want anything to look fakey (like the equivalent of cgi in print form), so the jury is still out.

and do you think i could draw a picture of mr. Morse in which he doesn't look like Bambi? i'm sure there's some deep psychological reason for this, but i'm not getting into it just now. i also keep screwing up on little details: the gun in the picture, it occurs to me, is sort of hash. i need to be less sloppy about that sort of thing. some of these things i can fix digitally (i can fix the gun, i'm sure), but i ought to do it right in the first place and make less work for myself.

zooks, it's the weekend. where does all the time go?

XD! *is rolling* that poor ant... around and around it goes... *laughs*

Gosh, both are so awesome! I love the hats - especially the brims. And the tree in the background of the first one is so intricate. :D
