Feast of the Transfiguration today.
do you feel transfigured? have you looked for the small graces that impact your life today?
andre tarkovsky says (in nostalghia) that two drops of water become one larger drop of water. in this way little graces build on one another....
i have been thinking about that for some time. of course tarkovsky was much more eloquent about it ~ i'm just sort of rehashing it through my cracker-sodden consciousness.
that, and what
seraphimsigrist said about art which (oh my, heavens forfend!) avoids the apolitically correct mention of God as Source of all things.
okay, and the giant mechanical squid, for which i desperately need a plot. it's begging to be steampunk, but oy, that's a genre i really detest (in spite of my amusement with Steam Detectives) ~ but just think if Nemo had a giant iron squid: wouldn't that be really cool?
it's teasing me horrifically. i want to turn The Red Dragon series into a pseudo steampunk piratical adventure (with a giant squid, of course).
i don't have the brain cells to think this through at the moment, but i thought i would try to capture the thought in case it might be the germ of some glorious new afflication.
ta ta for now (as kate used to say) ~
