my neighbor just offered to fix my tornadoed fence. that was especially nice of him.

for those of you wondering what all the doom and gloom recently has been about, sorry for all the cryptic lamentation.

i lost my job in december (just mislaid the silly thing and can't find it anywhere!) ~ i''ve been looking for work, but there's just nothing and though i have had some interviews, i'm competing with the other half of the entire workforce who has also been laid off. and because of the broad range of jobs i've had over the last ten years, my resume doesn't look career-oriented at all. not to mention i'm just one of those jacks of all trades and master of none.

so after six months of applying, scrimping, and struggling, the inevitable has arrived: i have to sell my house and i can see no reason to stay in this town or in the field of work i've been in. i've applied to go back to school and start all over with another master's degree in something more "employable" ~

so the house is going up on the block, the boxes are going to start getting packed, and hopefully i can sell quick and not take a bath on the property (the market is so wiggy at the moment).

i'm very sad to leave this city. i'm very sad to leave my parish. i'm just very sad in general. but i have a good feeling that this is (hard as it is) a step in the right direction. my goal is to be in st. paul, minnesota by this time next year.

so nevermind all my kvetching, i'm just having a wee pity party for the loss of all that was in preparation for the life that eventually shall be.

I'm sorry. :( It sounds like a very rough time. My brother was also laid off recently and he has a wife and two kids! (and a mortgage payment!) I am certain that you could land a job as an editor somewhere. Are you interested in that? Even with a catholic publication such as Our Sunday Visitor. I am not sure which city you live in right now, but larger cities offer more media jobs of course (as I have learned from my little small town with no media jobs climate). You have an MA. :) You can find something. I am sure of it. :) If you need any more job links, I can send you a ton of them (in catholic jobs and regular). :)Prayers coming your way. :)
