illustration no. 2023: hodge and james discuss parquet flooring
{ yeah, i know ~ what the heck? }

i keep forgetting to time myself. this was pretty spontaneous and feels like it didn't take me that long. the results are passable, i think. i'm beginning to see a weird theme in this thing: everyone's missing "parts" ~ odd that i didn't realize that before. it's like writing a historical series about the Island of Misfit Toys or something. and when i think about the asylum and the lives of the limbless there, i know it's just going to get worse and weirder. hmmmm.

i've done about eight of the twenty i need to do, which is pretty depressing. i'm just so bad at picking the scenes to draw (i mean, come on, parquet flooring?) ~ some of the others aren't quite this bad, but i do start second-guessing about my writing when i don't feel like drawing any of the scenes i've written (am i boring myself?).

i have so many things i should be working on right now.

story of my life.

triscuit anyone?

that makes a lot of sense ~ don't know who i would get to choose, but i think you're right that other people see stuff in a way that we don't.

i think that's really cool that you had something of your own illustrated ~ i love to see how others filter the material through their own eyes.
