laura asked me for this, but anyone else who wants to learn can check it out. forgive the sloppiness, my hand is tired.
enjoy ~ !

beginning advice: when you're first practicing, ALWAYS draw the guidelines. an ounce of preventitive is worth 100 times a pound of cure in this. i know it's a drag because it's messy, etc., but without the guides, you will be lost. the dimensions are very exact and anything less with cause distortion to your face. now, once you get used to the placements of all things, you can start fudging with the rule and doing cool stuff, but you gotta learn the ideal proportions first. i've been drawing forever and i still baste in the guidelines in pencil ~ very lightly ~ you can always tell when i don't.

notes: the "egg" shape (with the pointy part always pointing down) is always the starter shape ~ even for front views and three-quarter views.
measure your guidelines conscientiously. it will look strange at first to have so much room "up top" but that's where all the brains fit!

once you're finished, you can erase the guidelines, add texture, color, and shadows, etc. this is a basic head shape and can be adjusted to make a face of either gender and of any ethnicity based on the particular features you give it.

hope this was helpful ~ happy drawing!
