oh my heavens, i just overdosed watching the entire North and South miniseries.

it was every bit as bad as i thought it would be ~ and more ~ !

the first episode i was encouraged, thought it had some nice detail-work and interesting characters, but it just plunged after that into the depths of idiotic depravity (to say nothing of the amazingly absurd hairdos!) ~

i had never seen this before and had purposesly avoided it for years.

but as i am duty-bound to know the genre, i felt i had to get my boots dirty ~ and boy was i up to my shins in it tonight.

i'm not sure i can forge ahead with "book 2" ~ another six hours???

ugh ~ i think i'm gonna be ill.

and this after watching Episode III ~ ?

swayze and read at the Point
(which provided the only interest
in this overblown soap opera)

Hey, have you ever watched that really old movie, "The Santa Fe Trail", with Ronald Regan? About the Civil War? I watched it a few weeks ago, and I dunno...I didn't really like it...it was kinda funky to me...*^^*;; So I was wondering, if you don't have it, if I could send it to you. XD I mean, you're really really into the Civil War times, soo...I was just thinking. *^^*

wow ~ what a nice offer ~ thank you! that's so kind of you!

but i have to honest: Santa Fe Trail and it's twin abomination They Died with Their Boots On have to be the worst movies ever about their respective historical time periods. Neither of them bother to pay attention to the slightest historical reality and while i love olivia de havilland, even she can't save those hollywood farces from themselves.

i laughed especially hard at Santa Fe Trail: throwing that group of men together (custer??? he was practically still in diapers!) who in actuality never had that relationship and sending them to battle in kansas (where, by the way is Santa Fe?) oh my ~ the absurdity is just overwhelming.

yeah ~ i''m not a fan of baloney when it comes to this area. in fact, i may be one of the pickiest people ever. very very few movies about the Civil War (or pre-Civil War) make any sort of grade with me ~ most of them are just hollywoodized to death.

Yer welcome! XD And it's okay. *pokes* X3

I always wanted to know what the heck Santa Fe had to do with anything...*^^*;; And the old guy, um, he scared me. *hides behind you*
