despite the lack of snow (woe) and a brief power outage yesterday, i have been working diligently at my prologue and watching Horatio Hornblower ~ really enjoyed the first six films, though (without spoiling anything, hopefully), a certain death in the adventure "Retribution" irked me immensely. nevertheless, i do want to see the last two films (will have to acquire them eventually). i recommend the series to anyone who loves history, adventure, nautical junk, and men in uniforms (of course). Ioan Gruffudd is a kind of strange-looking fellow, but perfect for the part and i love love love Sir Edward Pellew (played by Robert Lindsay). anyway, go watch if you haven't seen 'em. they are well-made, well-acted, and lots of fun.

meanwhile, back at the ranch: i decided to add a couple of pages to the prologue to set up some important tidbits. i have some doubts about some of the choices i made with the drawing, but overall, i'm pleased enough with it. now's the hard part: deciding which direction to go in from here ~ flashback, but how far? my impulse is to go back to the very beginning and try to move forward chronologically from there, but yikes that's a looooong haul into the past (30+ years). anyway, i thought i would post a wee teaser from the final page. it's going to be a few more weeks until i start actually posting full pages to webcomicsnation. i still have a lot of work to do to get ahead well enough to keep a regular schedule and it still takes me up to four hours to do a page start to finish.

anyway, so there you have it and there it is.

This looks pretty interesting. Fours hours for a page isn't bad either- especially with color.
