As I'm getting caught up on all the things I didn't do two weeks ago, I'm realizing that even though it's the end of the week, there's no end in sight. I've got a syllabus to cobble together, a session at work to set up, paperwork piling up that wasn't "emergency" stuff, but has now fallen into the cracks and crevices on my teensy desk and is waiting to bite me when I least expect it.

On top of this are all the things I want to do! Creative things! Fun things! Remember the point of doing all this work? Eeep! And I promised my brother I would have his gallery up and lookin' purtiful and I haven't even started, so guess what I'm doing this weekend in addition to everything else! Ack!

Last night I lay awake, my stomach rumbling around--couldn't tell it if it was because I'm hungry or if it's because I ate something that didn't agree with me, which is a strange feeling when you think you might be hungry, but you don't want to eat.

In happier news, the toilet's back to working. Reason number seventy five why it's great to have a two-bathroom house to live in. Speaking of which, I gotta clean this place up. Sigh.

Gonna make a wish on this white horse and hope it comes true.

I'm reading Interior Castle (Saint Teresa of Avila) and in the Fifth Mansion, Chapter One she says:
(F)or, though many are called, few are chosen....So let us pause here, my sisters, and beg the Lord that, since to some extent it is possible for us to enjoy Heaven upon earth, He will grant us His help so that it will not be our fault if we miss anything may He also show us the road and give strength to our souls so that we may dig until we find this hidden treasure, since it is quite true that we have it within ourselves.
I wonder about the notion of "Heaven on Earth" and whether it's possible. I was always taught that Heaven was Heaven and Earth was Earth, but lately have been challenged to ask myself whether the road to perfection is, in part, creating Heaven on Earth in order to prepare yourself for the "after".
