1. i kept tarantulas for pets. TRUE

for years and years and year ~ yes, i did ~ !

2. i have an inexplicable passion for firemen. EMBARRASSINGLY TRUE

i even have a dalmatian ~ !

3. i was in the army during desert storm, but discharged for medical reasons. FALSE

i was old enough to have enlisted, but no, i never did. because i wear my father's army jacket from when he served in korea, many people believe this one is true.

4. i have always hoped to have a dream home in guadalajara. FALSE

does it snow in guadalajara? then fergit it! my dream home is in northern france, belgium, or austria.

5. i own a pre-civil war cavalry saber. TRUE

too easy ~ of course i do!

6. i ran away from home, saw an angel on the canadian border, and it told me to go home. TRUE

a pivotal moment in my life. i had crossed the canadian border and come back to the american side when i looked up in the sky. the sky was otherwise regular except this huge red cloud (and i mean blood red), it was in the shape of an angel with wings that stretched back in the direction i came from and an arm reaching forward, pointing very distinctly south. it was probably the most chilling thing i've ever seen. i watched it for miles driving southward until it finally dissipated.

7. i've been laid off four times in as many years. TRUE

arghhhhh ~ ! {puts on placard: will work for crackers}

8. i suffer from pigmentation displacement syndrome. TRUE

as a result, i will never have 20-20 vision, even with corrective lenses. i am likely not a candidate for laser surgery either, though i've never inquired since i've never had the money. there are times when my vision is completely blurry or obstructed in one or both eyes. i am at a high risk for glaucoma, but the doctor says i won't go blind for at least another 25 years ~ whoohoo!

9. i absorbed my own twin in the womb. POTENTIALLY FALSE

while this is possibly true, there is no way to prove it. my mother believes i was a twin in the womb and i was born with a very mild deformity of the hand (which is nearly imperceptible now, but looked like six fingers when i was younger) ~ like being born with a callous on my writing finger (which is amusing since i am a writer!).

10. i love chocolate like there's no tomorrow. FALSE

the only chocolate i like is cocoa on cold days and dark belgian chocolate ice cream on hot days. given a choice, i never prefer chocolate.

~~~
sorry for the long rambly stories ~ thought i would post the answers since Amber guessed the false ones all right ~ way to go!
Yay! I got three right!
It's funny you mention wearing your dad's jacket. I oftentimes wear my dad's Vietnam fatique jacket myself.
