finally got to see Pan's Labyrinth. what a movie. wow. excellent stuff, but brace yourself, this one pulls no punches, it was oddly less gorey than i had been led to believe, but it's definitely every bit as brutal as i was warned. i ain't sayin' anything else. go see it for yourself.

it's been nominated for a slew of awards. i hope it wins some.

this and Children of Men have renewed my hope for cinema lately.

the official website is also really cool and has the complete soundtrack, which you can listen to.

Ghost Rider also opened this weekend, but it's gonna take me a while to work up the goo to go see it. my brother says the special effects are fun to watch even if the rest of the flick is just trash.

i did some writing this morning (not a lot, but wrote a worthy scene). gonna see if i can do some more tonight.

I knew you'd like that film. :)

I liked the soundtrack a lot.

I'd suspected for a while that Del Toro was a genius. Nice to see I was right: it's a terrific film. :-)

There is only one thing I think might be more brilliant than this film...and thats blowing bleached flour out of the end of a papier mache' pipe in order to create the look of smoke coming out. Whos really to say though?

I still need to see Childrens of the Mens.....something about watching Clive Owen makes me feel as if I have been hooked up to an IV at a blood drive for way too long though. Hopefully, he gets angry in this...Clive is so hot whens he's in a tizzy.

As per our discussion, Nick Cage has become nothing more than, well.....Nick Cage. He doesnt even really have the droopy eye look to fall back on now that hes an aged fellow and seems to have had a little lifty lifty of the features. Watching Nick Cage makes me feel like I havent been hooked up to an IV at a bloood drive long enough. A little CG eye-candy never hurt nobody though....and who am I to judge poor cinema when Im the foremost historian of garbage in film?

Stay gold Churchie.
