i've slept most of the day today ~ just trying to catch up from lack-of all week long. i've missed so much on my flist and haven't a hope of catching up ~ meh. have that all-over loggy feeling.

prolly also have a lot to tell, but i'm too tired to even think about where to begin. i'm mostly anxious to get back to writing (maybe i'll have enough energy to start this evening).

went to see Pirates of the Carribean with my sister. i agree with [livejournal.com profile] sparowe in my assessment of the film. i don't feel totally disappointed because i don't feel like i've seen the whole movie yet. the third one better be a humdinger though, or i might be very put out. prolly more on this later. i'm looking forward to seeing Superman Returns next week at some point. see if that's any better. could be too much eye candy ~ even for me.

worked on Eleison hardcore all day yesterday, so i'm sorta burned out to watch the computer screen and too much movie-watching all week with my sisters has me burned out on the tv screen (also, my sister bought me the second season of Deadwood and i watched the finale finally last night). she also recorded the first three episodes of the new season for me, but sadly my VCR appears to be kaput. i can take the tape to school and watch it there, i suppose.

anyway, looking at screens right now isn't exactly what i want to be doing. i think i'll make some popcorn and sit with a pad of paper and a pen for a while ~ see if i don't have an attack of inspiration.

hope everyone is well! happy sunday!

I understand the burned out bit to an extent. Came on as a commission writer for a friend this weekend, and all my research is via DVD. Went well the first day, but currently bogging down as the character I'm writing is quite probably smarter than I am... so the verbal sparring is giving me a bit of a headache.

Nice to hear someone else agree with me about Pirates, btw. [livejournal.com profile] parelle did, but I feel very much in the minority.

it's even worse (the burnout) when you have to do it as a job, isn't it! i can totally commiserate.

as to johnny on the high seas, most of the die-hard fans are apparently defending it well despite negative reviews from critics.

i didn't hate the movie. it just wasn't all it could have been and too much of stuff we didn't need. and personally i think johnny faxed in his performance on this one a bit. he didn't seem to be having nearly as much fun with it and didn't get nearly enough screen time to do anything really interesting.

ah well ~ we shall see what happens.

Aw, welcome back! Sounds like you had a lovely time with your sisters.

I'll be seeing Superman Returns today at the IMAX theater after Mass. Dad is insistent on it. I saw Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire in the IMAX (since my sister Jane won some tickets, so we could go for free), and that about did me in right there. I have a feeling I'll be jumping and grabbing a sibling's arm right and left for the Superman one. Haha, I become way to involved in movies... and an IMAX theater only worsens my condition. XD!

I thought I'd also give you the heads up - I created my creative writing journal today and also friended everyone who showed an interest in reading it - so if you see that elivera has friended you - that's me on my creative writing journal. Haha. :D

And enjoy your attack of inspiration!

I'm betting anything that the 3rd Pirates movie will be a doozy. At least, I'm hoping. I've read a few vague spoilers from the cast members, and it should be interesting. They've hinted that they'll be hitting the South China seas, and Chinese pirates were notoriously bad. So that should be interesting.

Anyhow, good luck with your writing. :) I know that's what I should be doing right now...
