we interrupt this bout of non-posting to share some incredible news!

the reviews are coming in for our serial Eleison and the first one is outrageously amazing!

Broken Frontier's reviewer Dave Baxter says:
Eleison (which means "mercy" in Greek), is an astonishing first book by a talented new duo. They’ve been lurking around the internet and comic con borders since late 2003, and it’s high time they were given a greater exposure to comicdom at large. Their gorgeously wrought, inspired story of a French-Native American penitent with uniquely western occult powers waging battle with a centurion-demon Hell-fiend with a small, rabbit-headed kid weighing him down…well…it’s by far the most unique composite of dark fantasy elements I’ve come across in a western comic book in years and years and years. Add to this a boatload of honest talent and I’m looking at the brother-sister creative team-up of the decade (though I suppose that may not be saying as much as I want it to).

the emphasis is his own! click the link to read the whole deal!

this is very exciting!

if you don't know about Eleison, you can check it out (and order it!) from the press website here.

That's too awesome! :) Congrads. :) Just from the covers you can tell it's top notch. :) Your work and dedication to your writing (just the time you spend focussing on your writing and research) is an inspiration for me although I know I will never even reach the step below your level. :) Reading your entries is always a constant reminder to myself to shake my brain and get moving. So it's all the more awesome to see you guys getting the praise y'all deserve. :)

P.S.-- I hope you eventually replace Dark Horse. ;)

P.S.S.-- Will you guys be stopping at any comic stores/cons in my area/VA/SC/GA to market the books?

unfortunately nep ~ just doing the west coast thing again this year. we're hoping to have a trade paperback in 2007 and then maybe we can widen the convention circuit.

I don't have paypal. I might wait for the trade. :) That would be awesome to do. :) Is it being carried by any comic book stores yet? Is there a way to increase its presence in stores (like a central distributor?)?

There is DragonCon in Atlanta which is the biggest one in the southeast that I know of...definitely worth a stop on the future Carrillio tour. :)

yeah i don't have PayPal either (which is pretty funny ~ and a funny story, actually ~ but i digress). my brother has got it in local stores where he is ~ and we have a distributor list that we're working on. getting the reviews was sort of a preliminary step.

i've heard a lot of good things about DragonCon from other conventioneers. will definitely keep it in our future plans!

awww, thanks greg! that means a lot to me. especially since i consider myself the most lazy, unmotivated, schlepp on the block (hmm, wasn't i writing a serial for you? der.....)

at any rate, my brother works hard and he deserves the spotlight, so i'm very happy!

His work is really amazing. I am always impressed by it. How long does it take him to do each cover piece?

Haha, I won't accept that modesty. :) You are constantly working on your ideas and doing research and focussing your thoughts on characters and settings and scenes, etc.... :) Your devotion to it is always inspiring to read. :)

Yep, seems to me a certain ship is still stuck in a very precarious situation at sea... ;)

how long does it take him to do a cover? too long ~ hahahahahaha ~

but seriously, it varies. sometimes as much as six weeks.

as to that ship ~ hmmm ~ ever since i moved, i can't find anything, but i'll look for my notes this weekend.
