I've been noodling with the cards and feel like I'm making slow, but possibly sure progress. The artwork itself isn't so great and I have been rethinking the black outline, but I think I'll stick with it. I also have the opening scene completely translated into French now, so I can actually work from the beginning ~ that's pretty exciting. I'm trying to figure out what might be the best way to do the opening titles, etc. and build the pages.

I'm not confident about getting the words on in the way I had hoped. For one thing, I haven't futzed with Painter enough to figure out how to make the "flags" work as I want then too ~ and secondly, the cards are so teensy, I'm having a hard time figuring out how to get some of these long lines on there in a way that isn't just completely disruptive. Need to study more balloons, I guess.

Not too sure what these are for (if anything), but I really like the way he looks at the little girl in 1 and 3 :)
