i typed an exceedingly long whine about looking for agents, my failure to come up with a single commercial/marketable idea in 20 years, and basically the meaninglessness of it all ~ but the hell with that.
who wants to send a book query to the William Morris Agency?
c'mon ~ ! if we're gonna get rejected, why not by the best!

Big hugs to accompany your Diet Coke. And lots of sympathy for the writer's crisis. Are you actively looking for an agent?

But seriously, I read the other comments and I completely sympathize with your crisis. I feel the exact same way some times. All I've ever wanted to do was write. It's been the one dream I've never given up on. My problem is, I get too many ideas and not enough actual novels. Nanowrimo was the first time I've ever completed a rough draft of a novel. 10 years of story ideas and one half baked novel.
Like you, I feel I really need to get on the ball or just hang it up. I'm going to edit the story I wrote this summer and organize all my other ideas and start looking for a publisher.
I wish you the best of luck, you are incredibly smart and very talented. I have faith in you. I'm always here to lend a comiserating ear. :)
