Year 1833 : Lies & Liars ~ One demon down ~ one-hundred to go. Amelda Harkis may be grateful, but tempers flare when William Peck feels Marithé has worn out his welcome. And who are these Irish hooligans calling themselves Mister and Missus Roan? On returning to the Mission, vandals have struck. Is there anyone not plotting against Marithé?

It's the tale of an epic battle between the forces of good and evil ~ sort of Dances with Wolves meets Solomon Kane.

SERIES SYNOPSIS:

Father Jean-Marithé Baptiste swore vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience, but that wasn't always so. Now he has a new vow: to hunt down the 101 demons his disobedience has unleashed on the Earth. And then there's that whole rabbit-headed child of his ~ which can be quite the distraction when trying to vanquish evil.

EPISODE ONE:

Year 1833 : Conception ~ Amelda Harkis isn't feeling herself today. But it's going to take more than a doctor to put her to rights again. Confounded by her illness, the recently installed Pastor William Peck turns to Father Jean-Marithé Baptiste, a missionary who lives with the native people and is rumored to have "turned savage" as a result.

not very motivated lately, though it would seem i've been getting some things done. still haven't finished painting the TV room (purple!) and meant to post pictures, but, well (see first sentence).

i am eating eggs and cottage cheese for penitential purposes for the next ten days. i would just like to take a moment to say that on the list of things i don't like eating, eggs and cottage cheese rate very high. extremely high. in fact, i may starve to death. but then perhaps that would serve me right. i'm mostly joking. it's an imperfect penance as i hope i'll also lose some weight, but we all have to start somewhere.

been writing ~ not a whole lot ~ and not a whole lot else. came up with a lovely image for the moment of imprint for waabooz ~ the Blessed Virgin Mary appears carrying a bough of sweet alysum (devil's wort) and each tiny white flower becomes a totem and the branch becomes the archangel michael. waabooz is definitely going to be my "Marian" priest. it seems a bit odd that none of the others have much devotion to our Lady ~ so that'll be pretty cool. i'm excited about the story, so that's a good thing. and that rabbit headed baby is just ridiculously cute. but i can't seem to stop saying that.

i decided i was fed up waiting for someone to get on the stick about the holy land rpg ~ seems we were all out of our element unfortunately and i didn't like having to drive it. not that i didn't love the character of father niccolo, i just have no clue about traveling to the holy land in the 16th century ~ !

so i decided to start a new game (low pressure, just as a goof, really) ~ this time with a setting and characters i am more familiar with.

so welcome to the world of Jean Marithé Baptiste, a missionary in 1835 in North America somewhereabouts, living in an Ojibwe village. full-time missionary, part time gardner, painter, baker of pies ~ and occasional demon slayer. Anyone who wants to play is free to join.
