fin ~ !

i finished the page ~ didn't think i would have time before class, but knocked out the wee panels quickly. not sure how i feel about the overall effect.

i also fixed the balloon so it wouldn't cover the shoe (and corrected an error in my french).

all-in-all i think it's a good day's work.

Yeah, the intention is clear. And in a graphic novel with many illustrations the reader probably won't notice things like that that either aren't emphasized with color or relating directly to the text. I know I have major problems with positioning feet and getting them to look right in drawings - (not that i really draw anymore :() I think it's easier for me when modelling things in 3-d to see when something doesn't look quite right. It's hard too if you don't have a model, or if you have to turn yourself into a pretzel to see where the limbs go.

To address your comment about the way her body is turned - her torso is toward him but her hips are turned away - that indicates ambivalence or being less than friendly towards the other guy... I can't read French, so I dunno what you're going for, but I think your readers will definitely pick up on body language.

Also, I want to let you know that I really enjoy & respect your work - I don't want to come across at nitpicky, or critical in a bad way. Feel free to tell me to STFU anytime my comments are unwelcome. :)

definitely having a model helps. i stubbornly wing it too often and that makes it harder. especially when i'm very poor with perspective overall (i can fake it sometimes).

and thank you ~ i welcome your critiques ~ since this is a learning process for me, every bit of input helps. being self-taught (and a lazy student e'en so!), i need all the help i can get.
