i've gone to mass, i've bought groceries, and i've picked up a mess Paxton decided to make for me with the toilet paper roll and a weighted tape dispenser (the dog has toys, Lord ~ why must he play with my things?) ~ hahahaha

it's pretty cold ~ i actually think i shall have to bump up the heat this eve. working on PhotoShop i realized i was sitting on my free hand to keep it warm between tasks. yeah ~ i think that's a sign of: turn up the heat, yo!

anyway, progress report: i'm somewhere between yay and iffysniffy about how the work is coming along. my drafting skills are plerv, so i think that's a hangup i'm just going to have to work through. i can give up and die or i can keep drawing and hope that with practice things will iron themselves out. i actually like some of the stuff i've done lately and comparing this work with stuff i did a year ago, i am seeing some improvement, so i am encouraged! i have to remind myself that i have no formal training and i've only been doing this for the last year or so, really in the scheme of things. my brother taught himself painting and was a long time about learning it, so i need to be patient with myself (all this plotting world domination in 24 hours never really works, does it?)

last night i actually read Exposition. it's about 200 pages long and an easy read ~ a fun read. i actually think there are lots of good things about it. some clunker junk too (that'll need fixing), but overall i still don't hate it (pretty good for something i wrote six years ago).

i thought this would be the opening image, but i realized there's a whole thing about the green chair before the carpet, so i'll need to draw another picture for the chair business. that's okay ~ i needed an "establishing" shot anyway.

i like the way this came out. and yes, i totally cheated on the rug. i had to. i just couldn't draw the thing to save my life.
