i've decided to start using the music tag. why not ~ it might amuse some of you to know i listen to horridly "uncool" music. and i love seeing Iron Maiden juxtaposed with Mozart.
now that you've looked up to see what horrid thing i have posted there, you are probably scandalized to see that it's the master of uncool 80s synthesizer and piano, the yanster himself.
i can't really defend myself, so i'll explain: my brother brought yanni home before yanni was anyone ~ before the name even had any coinage at all. it was just something different and moody and since it was evocative of the ocean in many ways, we dubbed it "pirate music" and used it as background fodder for when we were working on our pirate epic (more on that another time).
so why is it on my iTunes all these years later?

there was one song in particular, a sort of romantic walz on one of the last albums of his that we acquired ~ the title song on Reflections of Passion (gee, even the name is bad). anyway, to the point: i used to dance with Babbit to this song. i would take his front paws in my hands and we would waltz (anyone who has seen 101 Dalmatians knows that dalmatians are capable of doing this ~ just like in the movie!)
so the song has special meaning to me for that reason. it's there for sentimental purposes.

waltzing with a dalmatian is super cute!!!
And what is the definition of cool music? *giggles* I'd definitely be uncool for half my music is Japanese, the other half Irish or some sort of new age like Yanni or David Arkenstone. I do admit- I have a few random American artists, so I guess I'm not totally geeky... ah shucks, I admit, I'm a total geek, but then aren't we all in some ways?
