and now for something completely different ~ pict spam!
so i took the day off from work and ended up spending part of it at the mall where i actually made some purchases (this is a phenomena for me). then i worked the whole afternoon on fixing the Here There Be Monsters Press page, which you can see in its all-new glorious incarnation right here!
I'm actually pretty happy with it.
Meanwhile, the house is a complete disaster due to Thursday's travails (never in al my life was there such insanity as there was that night). I took "morning-after" shots of the dogs as evidence. Yeah, that spotted thing looks innocent and innocuous enough, doesn't he?

believe it or not, this is an improvement from the night before.
and for the curious: the stack of books lined up at the right are
library books on the lincoln assassination. the stack of books
lined up on the left are my own copies on the same subject.

merle, being typically zen-like in the eye of the storm.
the papers strewn all over the floor are old homework assignments and
i think an old draft of From Slaughter Mountain. it's a long
story, how it all got that way.

my poor desk ~ no wonder i get nothing done!
the condition of this mess has nothing to do with
thursday, which is perhaps the saddest part.

If it's any comfort, your workspace looks an awful lot like mine, prior to me cleaning like a mad woman because the writing gang was coming over.
The Here Be Monsters page looks fantastic! Yay!

Wow, that second picture makes it seem like the dogs did it all! They're so cute. Books, books everywhere...looks familiar :P

Truth be told,
(Anonymous) 2007-10-20 06:39 pm (UTC)(link)"spotted thing?" I thought you were referring to the chair which does appear rather innocent.
Pax looks bemused to me and Merle's ears totally crack me up (they are so PERKY even when Merle is in zen pose!)...poor bebe has to share the doggie bed with a piece of homework.
Here Matthew has to sleep with books and assorted remote controls.
Your Here There Be Monsters page looks fabu!
Have a good Saturday, Boo

Re: Truth be told,
i sometimes thing Merle is an incarnation of the greek god Anubis. especially when she poses very sphinx-like.
it's amazing how pets get accustomed to walking around (and sitting on) the random junk of our lives.
are you having a nice weekend mooey?
