putting the hounds of hell down for a nap

i haven't taken the dogs to the park for too many days. they're starting to have that desperate, sad look about the eyes: we will never be free again, woe.

dogs are so dramatic.

~ * ~

today i'm lollygagging. gonna do some doodling. gonna do some writing. gonna try to read doctorow (who i've been ignoring all weekend ~ that's not a good sign).

watching (slowly) the first season of the X-files ~ there are actually episodes i've never seen! i never watched the show in syndication and started late (third season, i believe), so there's a ton of early episodes i never got around to getting around to. fun!

tomorrow i've got to hie myself to the wellness center and get jacked up full of immunization shots that apparently i need and don't have. also fun.

life is gloriously unencumbered today ~ and tomorrow there's no class, so i've got that day free too! yay!

: D
i keep picking random pages out of projects to practice drawing sequentials. i had really meant to draw the page immediately following the last one i posted ~ and in fact, i did draw the page. but there's something wongy about it and i didn't feel like inking the pencils until i decided what it was, so i randomly drew this page instead (or in addition, i guess).

meanwhile, back at Slaughter's Mountain

same m.o. ~ just throw down and see what comes up. the thing i mostly don't like about this one and meant to try to change after i scanned it is morse's face in the bottom panel ~ he has a look of horror that i hadn't meant to give him. the way the moment's described in the book, he's very calm about the whole thing, almost even indifferent. he's going out of his way not to freak out. "hurt yourself much?" like: "let's go have some coffee" ~ no big deal. it looks like a big deal in the picture though ~ hahahaha.

being able to nuance expressions is going to be an ongoing challenge.
