i've got a serious case of the lazies today.

lolled around in bed until 9:30, lay there thinking i don't own enough warm-ups and pajamas (back in the hot state i just didn't get dressed ~ here you kinda have to!). prolly some of you who work from home (like [livejournal.com profile] myrhapsody) can relate to the whole need for a variety in loungewear.

it's rainy today, which has the dogs irked for their very short morning walk (i.e. okay, we're outside, it's wet, you've done your business, now it's time to go back in) ~ poor things. paxton is whining, but what amuses me most is if we were back in the hot state and it was cold and raining he'd be curled up in bed regardless. silly dog.

i'm s'posed to be working, but it's cut n' paste day and that's the most boring part of the process when writing an ADR script. cut, paste, cut, paste. bleh. it's not like it requires any brain power whatsoever, but it is time consuming and i dunna feel like doon it.

i love how black wet bark looks. snow on empty branches is one of the most beautiful things in the world.

a wee bit of Narnia just outside my door
the dogs were kvetchy all day today: whine whine whine. yowza. it's made me a mite crabby.

that and i've caught a chill i can't seem to shake (though hot tea is helping). and the soup i had for lunch was kinda viscous and gross (i'm making my own next time ~ this canned business isn't even fit for birds: yech!)

so i've barely accomplished my bottom goal for work today and it's already 6:30 ~ meh. rather disappointing and now i haven't much energy to fiddle-foo with other stuff.

i also spent entirely too much time reading Phreeque.com (a compendium of "medical anomalies" ~ a bit graphic, though not intending to be exploitive; still, be forewarned.) i confess to a curiosity about such things and it's a theme i find in my writing (what is Shiloh, anyway, if not a "freak" ~ and though all the asylum residents are amputees, it really amounts to the same thing in that era ~ and what about Mad Collie's kids? 19th century ex-hatter supports brood of deformed children by becoming a porn photographer ~ okay, i'll admit, it's one of my stranger stories). point is: i guess i am always amazed at how people live their lives regardless of their conditions. it's not, perhaps, "heroic" per se, but reminds me of my own ingratitude. and i do still think if i had just been born with no legs or two heads or something, i would be a better person.

okay, maybe a weird subject about which i'm not expressing myself especially well, so i'll just drop it.

i really need to find a good video store. i miss watching movies. er, i guess i also need to fix my tv. and since i don't have any money to fix my tv, i guess i'll just have to watch Band of Brothers or the Singing Detective again. why did they remake The Singing Detective? the mini-series is brilliant. silly hollywood.

and i've decided: infusing a tortilla chip with "guacamole" flavor isn't just weird and wrong, it's an abomination to the palate.

what's a girl gotta do to get a warm yam around here?

i mean, other than purchase one, bake it, and serve it?

honestly ~ the things i have to do. it's just not fair.

okay, i promise i will stop posting. just having a totally aimless day and, oops, i seem to have broken my all-time record turnaround for falling out of love with my art.

i'd trade it all for a good, solid club. (10 points to anyone who can guess that not-so-obscure reference).

what i really need is some perspective. and a mate for this one glove i'm wearing. there's really nothing so tragic as a mateless glove.
