Anyone ever feel like they'd like to take a long flight, just to have all that loose time to read or am I just a weirdo?
I just finished reading Ron Hansen's "Eucharist" in Signatures of Grace ~ and I will mull it a little and then respond to it in the Sigs thread. Ron Hansen is an interesting writer. Before the holiday I went in search of his Bestseller: Mariette in Ecstacy and couldn't find it anywhere! I was baffled about how it could be that the book had just vanished off the shelves. Yesterday I was at BookPeople (a local non-chain store that has incredible guests and signings, etc.) Well Hansen was here recently, promoting his new book, Hitler's Niece so evidently every copy of Mariette was snatched up to be signed by the adoring public.
Ah well, one of them will turn up at Half Price Books eventually. I'm very intrigued by his work.
Now I'm kicking back with something less verbally demanding ~ Eddie Campbell's new book: After the Snooter. I bought it this summer (from Eddie Campbell himself, actually ~ ha) but I just haven't been in the mood. Tonight is a good night for curling up with hot tea and a weird graphic novel, though.
