eventually i'll write about something else (but not today) ~
Day 20: Goodie Proctor on the yellow brick road
i have officially put Mr. Pitt's transcript aside for the week so as to salvage my sanity. i'll pick it up again in June. meanwhile, there's plenty to write about that has nothing to do with what's in that particular text.
friend moomoo helped me out last night picking through some genealogy stuff for Mr. Poppet (which i sorely needed). and she also reminded me of a good way to get back on the path from which i had strayed. if you want to revel in this writer's tip, see her comment to this post from this morning. it's really good advice.
i bet you all wish you had a moomoo in your writing corner.
: D
p.s. i know i have been totally spammy in my journal lately going on endlessly about something too obscure to possibly be of interest to most of the people on my flist. but there you have it and that's what it looks like.
and speaking of, i found this picture online doing a casual browse (figured i had posted a picture of Mr. Poppet and might also post a picture of Mr. Hanty).
i didn't expect this however.
i've seen this picture a hundred times. but never with this sort of screaming clarity (this is the cool thing about 19th century photography, the resolution is intense if you get the picture just right ~ and sullivan or gardner, whoever took this, got it perfectly).
so here's Mr. Hanty on the scaffold, taken from a second-story window about a hundred feet away.

for me personally,
this is a lot closer to the action
than i ever really wanted to get
~ gehhhh ~

i need ice cream now.

i'm pretty sure it's all a very thinly veiled (and backwards) way of taking potshots at the current state of affairs in this country, but i find it a lot more entertaining and less aggravating than cnn.

well for what it's worth, i think anyone who's willing, in site of issues, to put their writing process out on the line like laundry for all the world to see has a kind of courage that's rather rare these days.
