just checking in at 19 degrees ~

i caught myself getting persnickety and perfectionist about what is essentially a throw away project and so i went and rented movies and bought groceries. manicotti tonight, anyone?

i rented Highlander because (gasp), i've never seen it. and [livejournal.com profile] scarlite's been going on about it and it seems like something that ought to appeal to me.

i've got five pages drawn. i'm wondering now: to ink or not to ink?

i thought i would be posting all day, but i guess now i have to modify my ambition ~ to post all night! mwhahahahaha!

(welcome to goofyland) ~

it's snowing!

Ah, I liked the first Highlander. Let me stress, the FIRST Highlander. This means that you should STOP after watching the first Highlander and don't dare embark on a course to watch ANY of the sequels. :)

hahahahaha ~ i've heard that the sequels aren't good.

your warning is noted!

Yeah, the first one's a pretty fun movie. Mostly it's the concept that's way cool but, since I fence - I tend to love anything with lots of decent sword play. The tv series, (in my opinion), was way better than any of the movies, but then, tv has the option to explore and expand things that a two-hour movie cannot. Apples and oranges. (Besides which the series was filled with good-looking men, and if I'm going to devote to a series, it usually has to have nice eye-candy. :-D)

oh, that's interesting to know ~ ! i was curious about the show, having never watched but one episode long long ago.

well, let's see how the movie goes and maybe i will get the first disc of the first season from netflix.

Yes, the first Highlander Movie is one that should be watched (2 and 3 should be avoided). I am trying to get a copy of Highlander 4 (End Game) only because it's got Adrian Paul and Peter Wingfield in it. :)

I was practically raised on the show, so it will always be better than the movie for me. And as someone else noted, had lots of good stories and hot hot men. :)

I'll be interested to hear what you think.

On second thought, now that I am rewatching the original movie, stick to the series... So far there are few redeeming qualities to the movie (the largest being Sean Connery). It does get a little better when Sean Connery comes in (if you can stick it out till then). Really, watch the series. You might like it a lot better.

And, if you do watch the series, stop at season 5. Season 6 does not exist as far as I am concerned.

hahahahaha ~ well i will file that away. i'm watching the movie tonight. guess i should keep my expectations low, huh?

at least sean connery ought to make it worth while.

Sean Connery is absolutely gorgeous in this movie, and his character is so funny.... And other than men in kilts, there's not much reason to watch.

Argh. Season 6 was awful, wasn't it?

I used to follow this series religiously. Some of the casting choices for Villain Of The Week were inspired. Rowdy Roddy Piper? He was pretty good, actually...

i may still rent the first season disc, but man, the movie was wretched.

sooooo bad.

Oh yeah, it was bad. But try the series. It's good. Occasionally cheesy, but nothing like the movie.

Season 6 was disgraceful! And what was the point of putting Peter Wingfield and Elizabeth Gracen in the credits when they were only in like the last 2 episodes? Come on!
