the short of NaNo for the day: 645 words. hahahahahaha
i might write some more tomorrow. or i'll go see The Prestige ~ hard choice!
in film: had two this weekend with surprising results. first there's Mesmer ~ it's all lined up to be a winner: Alan Rickman stars, it's a Dennis Potter script, and it's got a Michael Nyman score.
apparently all three were on crack for this one. it was a crashing muddled bore.

not even rickman looking sexy in a jabot could save this one
but for those of you who like unusual westerns, try Guy Pearce and John Hurt in The Proposition ~ who knew Nick Cave wrote a film? this was hardcore frontier justice in the Australian outback ~ very bloody, but also very intelligent. excellent characters, wonderfully ambiguous "sides" of the law, and a finale that's just outstanding.

jo bob says check it out.
