are you ever just so distracted that you don't really feel like putting so much energy into a post? geh ~ it's the first of the month, so Season Two: Resolution of this series launches today. i ought to be more excited, but i'm just flummoxed by the disaster next door and trying to find ways to help.

so here's a random excerpt re: the fire that ended last season:

"Mister Colonel Sir," Ken ventured, glancing between Art and Scotty. His mouth was dry and his tongue stuck to his palate. "Could we ~ could we have a word with you Sir?"

"You may have several," James answered. "And I recommend them steeped in brandywine with a side of new potatoes and parsley."

Ken looked pained to understand the response. "No thanks, Colonel," he said tentatively, "we already ate breakfast. Colonel, it's sort of private-like, what I got to say to you."

"Say what you have to say."

Ken swallowed hard. "Well Sir, me and Scotty overheard some of the fellas talking about doing a thing like this. But we weren't in on it, I swear."

"What fellas?" Art asked.

"Sir," Ken continued to address James alone, "I'd really rather not say."

Art looked irritated. "You'll say or I'll run you in for obstruction of justice or some such."
