the usual senseless babble ~

reminded by [livejournal.com profile] oldcontemptible, i took what was left of my $300 store credit and got a copy of Ride with the Devil ~ was astonished by how many famous people are in it (tobey macguire? i didn't even know who he was back when i saw it when it was first released in 1999). amusingly, it also has jonathan rhys-meyers and james caviezel (both pictured) ~ too funny.

i have some thoughts to share on it, but don't really feel up to writing them for now, so i'll likely get to it tomorrow (or eventually) ~ the short of it is i enjoyed seeing it again after five and a half years. it's a solid flick. it needs a stronger score, but the detail work is nice and i really like the characters.

made curry chicken yesterday. mmmmm good.

bee trying to focus on writing, but my attention span hasn't been optimal. i keep bouncing around from one thing to another. i really feel strongly that i need to either rearrange the furniture or just set fire to my desk.

considered going to zilker for the fireworks, but the murderous heat has disabused me of any notion that such an outing might be fun.

guess that's all. dunno why i even post this. clearly procrastinating. hahahahaha ~

Ang Lee did an admirable job with the film. When I was attending the University of Kansas in Lawrence, I learned that parts of the filming took place in Lawrence and the surrounding area. That was interesting to find out.

i like ang lee's work very much ~ i think he's nicely understated ~ and therefore rather underrated unfortunately.

interesting about lawrence ~ i've never been there.
