There's a place in the interior of BC called Barkerville, which is a national heritage site as it was once a gold-rush town. They have a Christmas week, with caroling and sleigh rides (as the average snowfall there is 21 feet or something like that) and all the trappings of a 19th century Christmas...it sounds like a dream...:)
