cheery morning thoughts ~

Cheek press'd to cheek, there in sweet ecstasy we,
Falling asleep under the old locust-tree,
Smiling in dream, seem in a heaven to live,
For such a night who his whole life would not give?

~ Mihai Eminescu, "Eve On The Hill"
(1885, Translated by P. Grimm)
read about this eternal embrace recently unearthed in italy.

I saw this too this morning! I can't wait to see if they find out who they were and what their story was.

And I really hope they are embracing and that the skellies just didn't shift that way.

Hmm! You know, I've never seen this picture...but I think I've heard of it before. (Maybe it was a different picture, but I think it was this one.) In fact, we published a story at DKA not too long ago, Sorrow's Shroud (http://www.dkamagazine.com/item.php?sub_id=64) by Rachel A. Marks, that was inspired by...either this picture or one just like it, two skeletons embracing.

If you haven't yet, I highly suggest you read the story...it's quite beautiful.
