grrrr ~

so, i find the book at half.com for $27. yay!

i throw it into my cart, hedge buying it for a few minutes, then click "process". the banner comes up: out of stock.

what???

is it really possible in the last 15 minutes someone else on the planet, similarly desperate for a reasonably affordable copy of kuz's work just happened on the same copy?

it's a conspiracy. a martian jesuit conspiracy (like they all are).

kuz has another book, Photographic Atlas of Civil War Injuries: Photographs of Surgical Cases and Specimens from the Otis Historical Archives ($60). instead of buying my school books this semester, i think i will buy it instead.

meanwhile, the pursuit continues.

: o p

edit: i went ahead and ordered both of these books from innerliberry loan (the suspense was just killing me). after i've read them i'll decide whether i want to invest the money.

Yes, it is. *sigh* I had that happen with Helen Longstreet's book, which was only $35. The next cheapest edition was over $90. :P

i'm just amazed at the prices of some of these books ~ it's kinda scandalous! especially when you can borrow them for free at the library ~ guess one more reason to love the library!
